This year the Open Triples Invitation was held on Saturday 8th June in weather that wasn’t as kind as it was last year. UDBC hosted 17 teams from Aberdeenshire, Moray and Aberdeen, and entered three teams of our own.
On arrival the teams were offered tea and coffee and butteries to set them up for the upcoming competition.

The teams competed in four groups in a round-robin format with the top team from each of the four groups qualifying for the semi-finals. The subsequent winners from the semi-finals played for 1st and 2nd places with the runners-up in a playoff for 3rd and 4th places.

Well done to the four teams for securing places in the finals and all the other teams for the way the matches were played with a competitive spirit liberally laced with fun and good humour.
During the day the players and volunteers were treated to lunch and tea provided by the hard-working team in the kitchen.
A massive thank you must go to those people in the club and the volunteers who made the Tournament possible by preparing the green and the grounds, organising the matches, and preparing and serving the lunches and teas.
Thank you to those selling raffle tickets and the whisky squares and for everyone who generously donated raffle prizes and bought tickets.
