As with most, if not all, local clubs the support of the members and community is vital to the running and success of Upper Donside Bowling Club.

Members support the club in many ways, financially and by giving up their time.

Financial support includes:

◊  New seating being purchased.

◊  Replacement ditch liners being purchased.

Ongoing contributions  including:

◊  Providing ingredients and baking for visiting teams during competitions.

◊  Paying for the monthly subscription for the website.

◊  Sponsoring tournaments.

◊  Providing raffle prizes.

Many of these expenses are borne by the members and generously not reclaimed.

With regards time there are too many to mention.

However, such examples are:

◊  Green preparation, especially when coring the green.

◊  Looking after the grounds.

◊  Building maintenance.

◊  Setting up club and external competitions.

◊  Providing catering for events.

◊  Maintaining the website.

◊  Attending courses.

◊  Attending meetings with external bodies such as Bowls Scotland.

◊  Volunteering to be on the Committee.

◊  Office bearers responsible for the running of the club.
